River Watch by Tri-State Cares is a daily safety check-in program that protects independent seniors living alone. Participants receive a secure daily monitoring check, and if they fail to respond, the program immediately alerts their designated emergency contact to ensure timely intervention. By proactively reducing isolation and linking seniors to vital local resources, River Watch provides families peace of mind and helps vulnerable individuals stay safe, dignified, and connected at home.

How Can Tri-State Cares Help?

Tri-State Cares is a non-medical support program offered at no cost or obligation. We help senior citizens in need by providing future care planning, information on local resources, caregiver support, and referrals.

The River Watch

River Watch by Tri‑State Cares is a community wellness and safety program designed for seniors who live alone. The program provides daily check‑ins, emergency notifications, and access to trusted community resources—helping ensure that no senior is forgotten or left without support.

Through River Watch, enrolled seniors receive a daily wellness check‑in using a secure monitoring system. Each participant selects an emergency contact at enrollment. If a senior does not respond to their daily check‑in, follow‑up steps are taken and the emergency contact is notified, allowing for timely intervention and peace of mind for families and loved ones.

River Watch was created after a tragic local incident highlighted the risks faced by seniors living alone without regular contact. In response, Tri‑State Cares partnered with community stakeholders to develop a proactive, prevention‑focused program that promotes safety, dignity, and independence.

In addition to wellness monitoring, River Watch serves as a connection point for education and community resources, including food assistance, caregiving support, Arizona Long Term Care information, and referrals to local service providers.

By reducing isolation and improving early intervention, River Watch strengthens not only individual safety but the well‑being of the entire community. The program reflects Tri‑State Cares’ mission to support seniors who fall through the cracks and help them remain safe, informed, and connected in their own homes
